Born in Vandergrift Pa on December 26, 1931, she graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with an BS degree in Nursing in 1954. Marilyn married Alexander Salem in 1954. They moved from Pittsburgh area to Brecksville, Ohio in 1960 and to Bridgewater New Jersey in 1969. In 1973, Marilyn and her husband opened Enviro Paint and two years later Salem Realty in Whitehouse NJ.
